Definitions

Special national minimum wage II: applies to disabled adults where disability DOES affect productivity Adults whose productivity is affected by their disability are paid a percentage of the national minimum wage, set in accordance with Schedule A to the National Minimum Wage Order.
Special national minimum wage V: applies to a trainee who is not an apprentice. Minimum wage varies with years of schooling. The minimum wage for a trainee is set in schedule E of the Miscellaneous Award 2010.

Australia has a government-mandated minimum wage. No worker in Australia can be paid less then this mandatory minimum rate of pay.
Employers in Australia who fail to pay the Minimum Wage may be subject to punishment by the government of Australia.
The General Retail Industry Award 2020, updated for 2024, sets the minimum wage for a level 1 employee as A$25.65. The wages for junior employees are a percentage of this wage.

Wages per month are calculated as 4.33 times if a weekly wage is defined. It is calculated as 4.33 times the standard hours per week if an hourly wage is given.
