SEAD
| Project Description | The SEAD project supports employers and trade unions in Czechia, Hungary, and Slovakia to strengthen social dialogue and shape policies addressing the socio-ecological and digital transformation of the automotive industry. As the sector faces challenges from automation, digitalization, and decarbonisation, SEAD promotes collaboration between researchers, policy experts, and social partners at both national and EU levels. |
| Project Objectives |
Analyse Policy Gaps: Map EU and national-level policies in Slovakia, Czechia, and Hungary on technological change and decarbonization, identifying where social partners' voices are missing. Examine how labour market issues are addressed in dialogue and collective bargaining (WP1 & WP2). Build Capacity: Strengthen social partners’ strategic planning through the Theory of Change framework, foresight workshops, tailored trainings, and self-learning support (WP3, WP4 & WP5). Foster Networks: Connect national social partners with each other and with EU-level counterparts in the metal industry (IndustriAll and CEEMET) to enhance regional and EU engagement (WP5, WP6 & WP7). Facilitate Knowledge Sharing: Ensure effective knowledge transfer and communication tools for use within social partner organisations (WP6). |

OS KOVO (project lead): Project coordinator; organises consortium meetings, mutual learning events, strategic planning (WP4, WP5), and EU-level networking workshops (WP6). CELSI (Central European Labour Studies Institute): Leads political process and social dialogue analysis (WP1); supports strategic planning (WP4, WP5); contributes to communication (WP6). WageIndicator Foundation: Leads collective agreement analysis (WP2); manages communication and dissemination (WP6); supports design and knowledge-sharing. Czech Priorities: Leads foresight workshops (WP3); provides local training support (WP5); promotes evidence-informed policymaking. NextEconomyLab: Coordinates training design and recruitment (WP4); co-leads strategic planning (WP5); delivers train-the-trainer workshops. ZPS (Slovak Engineering Industry Association): Organises training and prepares its own strategic plan; supports WP1 and WP2 analysis and dissemination; engages in WP6. OZ KOVO: Advocates for workers’ rights; supports collective bargaining and working conditions; contributes to strategy and training at national and sectoral levels. MGYOSZ (Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists) – Responsible for organising training sessions and preparing its strategic plan (WP4 and WP5). Delegates a strategic planning manager, supports analysis and dissemination in WP1 and WP2, and participates in communication and networking activities of WP6. VASAS (Hungarian Metalworkers’ Federation) – Organises training sessions and prepares its strategic plan (WP4 and WP5). Delegates a strategic planning manager, supports CELSI and WIF in WP1 and WP2, and participates in WP6 communication and networking activities. Associate Partners: CEEMET (Council of European Employers of the Metal, Engineering and Technology-based Industries) – EU-level employer federation; provides links to EU social dialogue policy and contributes feedback at in-person and online meetings. |
